Camp Kala • Sculptural Play • Ages 6-11

Explore concepts and techniques of sculpture using cardboard, paper, paper-mâché, clay, found objects, and more! During the week, young artists will play with scale, line shape, texture, and color to create sculptures from observation and imagination inspired by people, animals and nature. From the real to the fantastical, discover the endless fun of 3D artmaking!

About the Instructor:

Aliza Cohen is an artist, designer, and educator in the East Bay. She has taught art to children ages 2-18 and currently teaches sculpture and 2D Art to high school students. Her work, which includes paintings, drawings and ceramics has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Aliza is the recipient of several awards including two residencies at the Jentel Foundation in Wyoming, Vashon Island Artist Residency, a Kala Art Institute Residency, an Artist Fellowship at the Vermont Studio Center and the Constantin Alajov Award at Boston University. In her spare time she enjoys playing at the beach with her two children and her little dog Ira.
