Drawing the Figure: Experimenting with Graphite & Ink (ONLINE)

Explore different methods and materials while drawing the figure from observation using zoom and a live model. Practice drawing the figure, expressions and portraits while experimenting with line quality, different ways of creating value and composition strategies to improve your technical skills. Every week we will look at different contemporary and local artists as inspiration, including Toyin Ojih Odutola, Malaya Tuyay, Suhad Khatib, and Swoon. Students will begin to explore their own drawing voice and how they can use the figure to express ideas. Classes are online.
