Electro-Etching: Non-Toxic Intaglio

In this 3-day intensive, participants will learn basic knowledge of electro-etching techniques, a non-toxic print method. Participants will gain a working knowledge of the science behind electro-etching, safely preparing and etching their metal plates as well as maintaining a non-toxic work environment. The class will then cover traditional ground equivalents such as electro-line, electro-tint, open bite, and electro-graphite technique while working with BIG ground and other safer solutions. By the end of this workshop, participants will not only print a small edition of their own design, but also gain the knowledge and confidence to set up their own electro-etching tank in their studio.
