Printing without a Press: Foam Plate

In this workshop we will use thin foam plates to make prints without a press. You will learn a variety of ways to draw lines, make marks, and press shapes into the foam plates. You’ll learn how to apply water soluble block inks to the foam plates using brayers and brushes, and how to transfer the ink from your foam plate to paper. You can re-ink the foam plates many times to make multiple prints from the same plate. The class will include both demonstrations and hands-on time. No previous printing experience needed.
