Handmade Artist Books

This class will introduce you to the creative and inspiring world of handmade books. From simple Zines to hard covered books with pop-ups and stitchery artists’ books can be a great vehicle for self-expression. Over the course of 6 weeks participants will discover how to create unique books using a variety of materials and techniques. We will cover how to combine monotype, stitching, and mixed media with various forms of binding to create a different type of book each week.

About the Instructor:

Stephanie Jucker is an exhibiting artist who uses mixed media and printing techniques in her paintings, books and art installations. Originally from London, where she earned her BFA, Stephanie has an MFA from Syracuse in painting, printmaking and ceramics. She is currently exhibiting at Modern Eden Gallery in San Francisco and teaches at College of Marin, San Francisco Center for the Book, and University of Pittsburgh Art Gallery.
