Summer High School Printmaking Intensive at Kala Art Institute
June 22-26 M-F, 10:30am-4pm. Grades 9-12

Students will work in a professional environment as printmakers, learning new techniques, enjoying access to printing presses, tools and materials while developing quality samples of their work with the artspeak to support it! Recommended for students working to build their college admissions portfolios.
Class activities:
- Introduction to printmaking processes and techniques: Monotype and Relief Printing, chine colle and image transfer.
- Collaborative bookmaking
- Observational drawing
- Self-portraiture
- Narrative landscape
- Create a portfolio of original artwork
- Document and archive your work in digital format
- Leave class with your file on a disc or key drive
- Create an individual and group slideshow online
- Develop language that accurately describes your imagery and process
- Write an artist statement and short bio
- Culminating exhibition in the Kala Classroom
