In this full-day professional practices workshop for visual artists, we’ll present an overview of effective tools you can use to show and sell your artwork. After reviewing the different kinds of venues in the art world, we’ll focus on how to put together an effective artist’s submission packet. We’ll discuss methods for researching the best venues for exhibiting your art, and review advertising strategies to get the most exposure for your work using e-mail, print and web tools. We’ll conclude with guidelines for goal-setting, long-term career planning and time management. The class will be team-taught by exhibiting artists and Art Primer co-founders Jamie Brunson and Cynthia Lait. Enrollment is limited to 10 students.
