Contemporary artists need to develop written and visual materials in order to submit, promote and publicize their artwork. In this hands-on four-session class, you'll get guidance in writing a creative and concise version of your artist's statement, developing a professional exhibition resume, and refining the content and format of your cover letters for gallery and proposal submissions. You'll also learn how to write a promotional biography for your website, and how to use all of these materials to write a polished press-release to promote your work. We'll discuss marketing campaigns, good web content and design, and how to use print and Internet venues to promote your work and build exposure. Recommended classes to take in conjunction with this class: Writing Workshop and Your Own Website.
