Rochelle Youk is a multidisciplinary visual artist with a practice investigating craft traditions through the lens of cultural exchange. Much of her work is informed by the processes that are required by specific art forms, including that of bookbinding. After earning an MFA in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute, she completed a bookbinding apprenticeship at letterpress publisher, The Arion Press where she has continued to work in various roles for almost a decade. She also works as an independent bookbinder for Bay Area artists and publishers and, in that role, has guest lectured at CCA, SFAI, as well as other local creative spaces.
