Intro to Lithography

Crayon lithography is the simplest way to start your journey into lithography! Artists from Honore Daumier to Charles White created beautiful prints through drawing and you can too. Students will create their own drawings on limestone and learn how to etch and stabilize those drawings. They will then learn how to print off of limestone using a litho press. This class will include demos and studio time, and students can expect to have a few (2-5) impressions of their drawing. No previous printing experience needed.

About the Instructor:

Rudolph Taylor is a collaborative printmaker with a focus in lithography. He received his BFA from Syracuse University, where he began assisting with classes and working with artists through Lake Effect Edition. He further pursued his passion for collaboration with the completion of the Tamarind Printer Training Program, and currently works for Paulson Fontaine Press.
