Intro to Open Source Image Processing (ONLINE)

This online class will cover a broad range of image processing techniques, all utilizing free and easily available software. We will explore at least one software per session including but not limited to GIMP, pixlr, and Processing. Some coding experience will be helpful but not at all required, as we will also be working with existing code that is open source to further process images. Source imagery will be provide but students are welcome to user their own!

About the Instructor:

Ioe Key has been a digital artist for almost 20 years. Through collage and code, humor and surrealism, their work pushes on boundaries of expectation around conversations of climate crisis, queer relationship to our own bodies, and technology. Ioe is currently an artist in residence at Kala and a freelance designer. Recently several of their still and animated pieces were included in the 24hr net.rave fundraiser for the Zapatistas and Street Sheet Vendors via x24tools.
