Letterpress Handset Type

This class will get back to the roots of the printed word. Students will be introduced to the satisfying practice of hand setting type for letterpress. Using the Kala’s collection of lead and wooden type, students will develop their own small composition such as a greeting, postcard, business or calling card to be printed on the Vandercook Cylinder Presses. This one day class will cover locking up type, press operation, adjusting rollers and packing. All levels welcome.
