Monotype Explorations: The Low Tech Approach

Monotype Explorations is an opportunity to get inky with a straight-forward approach to printmaking. Learn about direct painting, color layering, Chine Collé, ghost images, and registering multiple plates for an immediate result. Enjoy being messy and leave this workshop with some inspired prints! All levels welcome.

About the Instructor:

Jen Cole worked as a fine arts printer for about ten years after completing her graduate work at SF State. She is currently going in to her eighth year as an Artist in Residence at Kala Art Institute. Her other residencies include, Vermont Studio Center, Playa Art Residency in Oregon and the Women’s Studio Workshop in New York and Empriente in Luxembourg. She finds printmaking to be a perfect media for mixing and blending different techniques together for intriguing and experimental outcomes.
