Objects as Exposure: Adventures in Analog Screenprinting

This class will use found, hand-made, and natural materials to expose screens. Removing computers from the process, we will discover what happens when we allow objects to be translated through the screen exposure process. Basic alignment and printing practices will be covered. This class will include hands-on demonstrations and open studio time to create your own artwork.

About the Instructor:

Defne Beyce is a Turkish-born, Bay Area based printmaker. Inspired by her family history of continental migration and time living in the American west, she explores ideas of space, location, movement, and roots. She manipulates the screen-printing process to include materials such as dirt, charcoal, ash, plants, and trash.
