Camp Kala Wk 4 • Paint! • Ages 9-12

Let’s explore all of the different things we can do with paint. Pour, dip, brush, scrape and more. Make an abstract painting to hang in your room, learn techniques for realistic rendering and get inspired by famous and emerging artists. Explore a variety of paints and mediums, prepare your own pigments, and learn how to drip and swirl to create your own marbled pattern paper. When you create with paint, the possibilities are endless!

About the Instructor:

Aliza Cohen is an artist and educator.  She currently teaches both 2D and 3D Art at Albany High School, as well as after school art classes for elementary school children.  Her approach to art education is focused on teaching skills to empower students while encouraging them to explore and engage with the artistic process. Aliza holds an MFA in Painting from Boston University and received her teaching credential from Mills College. When she isn’t teaching or making paintings at her art studio in Richmond she is adventuring and tasting ice cream flavors around the Bay Area with her two lovely children.
