Zine Workshop: Stories. Character. Action!

We all have stories to share. Some of them are stories we’ve lived. Some of them are stories we imagine. Some of them are just the things we need to tell our friends or say to the world. In this 3-part workshop, you will develop characters and bring them and our ideas to life through making zines. Materials will be provided AND please bring any materials that you are particularly excited about – whether that be a set of pens,
some cool paper, or materials for collage.

Think ahead of time:
What is the story you wish was in the world? Do you have a character that needs to come onto the page? Do you have an opinion others need to hear? You don’t need to have an answer, but start thinking about what stories and ideas you might want to share in an 8-12 page zine.

Session 1: Get to know each other / Play with character and “story” ideas
Session 2: Put your character in the story / Map it out on paper / Start production, play with materials
Session 3: Finish zine / Readings / Workshop

Session Dates: Feb 11, 18, 25
