Black History Month Read In

Golden Gate Library Off-Site Event

Black History Month, READ-IN

Saturday, February 18, 3 – 4:30 pm
Kala Art Institute, 2990 San Pablo Ave.

Let’s come together to read, share inspiration, empowerment, and community.

Please bring a selection from your favorite poem, speech or book authored by an African American. Or, choose a selection from the many offerings on hand provided by the Golden Gate Library. So that everyone has a chance to read, please make sure your selection is 5 minutes or less.

The Read-In is part of Commons Archive, a community-based art project to create a neighborhood memory bank at the Golden Gate Library.

All ages welcome! Questions? 510-597-5023

This event is co-sponsored by the Oakland Public Library Golden Gate Branch as part of Print Public at the Kala Art Institute.
