Chris Fraser

Chris Fraser is a BayArea artist whose immersive installations and performances approach a direct experience of our optical environment. He received his BA in history from the University of California, Davis and his MFA in studio art from Mills College. Chris is a recipient of the Jay DeFeo Prize, and was awarded a graduate fellowship at the Headlands Center for the Arts. He has had recent solo exhibitions at Disjecta in Portland, the Center for Contemporary Art in Sacramento, and Highlight Gallery in San Francisco. Chris participated in Bay Area Now 6 at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and will be featured in Personal Structures at the Palazzo Bembo as part of the 55th Venice Biennale.
