Call for Entry:

Art Kala 2020 Open Call: Response
With Kala’s annual auction being extended until June 27th, we are taking this opportunity to invite people to be inspired by, and respond to, one of Kala’s auction pieces. We feel that this will be an imaginative challenge, a means to exercise your creative muscles. Use this as an opportunity to experiment with performance, video, animation, audio, or spoken word!  All auction pieces are available to view on Kala’s Artsy page! Take a look and be inspired!

Responding to our current climate of grief and cry for changes, Open Call: Response invites artists to submit any form of digital content that responds to our current events.

It can be imagery, it can be messaging, performance, or emotions. We open up and share Kala’s platform to those who need us most during this difficult time. Art can be many things: a way to grieve, a way to heal, a way to protest. Use this opportunity to do what you must do during these trying times.

This call was originally created as a creative challenge for artists to engage with Art Kala 2020 Auction during a time where art making was reconsidered within new confines.

The deadline has been extended until June 14th. Submissions will be featured on Kala’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, website) in which we will also provide the artist’s venmo handle (or other cash application) to encourage financial support. Artists may choose to support an outside organization instead.

Deadline: June 14, 2020. For more details and to submit your work, click here.
