COMBINATION PRINTS: Linocut & Acrylic Gel Transfer
with Barbara Milman
12 hour workshop
Class #6: February 13, 20: Sundays 11am - 5pm
Tuition $180 Materials $11 Total Cost $191
Many artists are now blending age-old techniques with contemporary processes such as xerox-copying and computer imaging. This two-day workshop presents a unique process that combines linocut, a traditional relief printmaking technique, with acrylic gel transfer, a contemporary method of transferring a xeroxed or computer-generated image onto a thin layer of clear acrylic. You'll learn the basics of both techniques and how to combine them into exciting mixed media prints. On the first day, you'll carve the linocut and print it on a press. Milman will also demonstrate how to print without benefit of a press. The second day you'll create the acrylic gel transfers and add them to the linocut prints. Open to artists of all skill levels. This workshop uses only water based and non-toxic materials.
