2005 Fellowship winners

Kala Art Institute Fellowship Competition

Kala fellowships are awarded annually to eight competition winners and a handful of alternates. Artists apply from throughout the United States, Central and South America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. All artists working in the realms of printmaking, book arts, electronic/digital media (video, sound, animation, etc.) and installation art are encouraged to apply. The Fellowship Competition is juried by Kala's Executive Director, Artistic Director, and Program Manager.

In 2005, the eight artists selected as winners will receive a $2000 stipend and a free six-month residency at Kala. Following the residency, each Fellow will be featured in a group exhibition in the Kala gallery.

How to Apply

Submit the following materials:

-Fellowship Competition cover sheet
-resume detailing your training/skill level
-10 still images either on slides or a CD-rom; 3 video works on a DVD or a VHS video tape; or 3 installation works in either still or video format; no actual work, please!
-slide list/narrative
-letter of intent describing your artistic goals
-self addressed, stamped envelope (for the return of your application materials)
