This three-day professional development intensive is for for beginning and advanced teaching artists. The Institute is an opportunity for teaching artists in all disciplines to hone essential skills and strategies for participating in new opportunities in today’s schools, and to engage at a deeper level with what it means to be a professional teaching artist. Partners and Faculty:

Co-presented by the Alameda County Office of Education’s
Alliance for Arts Learning Leadership and the California College of the Arts in partnership with Alameda County Art Commission, Berkeley Rep School of Theatre, California Shakespeare Theater, Cal Performances, Luna Kids Dance, Museum of Children’s Art (MOCHA), and Opera Piccola.

Topics Include:
• Working with arts learning frameworks and California state standards
• Age-appropriate curriculum planning
• Making Learning Visible and authentic student assessment
• Working with ALL children: learning differences, cultural
competencies and resources
• Effectively partnering with schools
• Hands-on engagement, networking, sharing with peers

Alameda County Office of Education provides letters
of completion to teaching artists who complete the Institute.
