Program Manager Position available at IPCNY

International Print Center New York currently seeks an individual with four to five years of experience in the field of visual arts to fill the position of Program Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to play a major role in a growing non profit arts-organization and exhibition space.
The ideal candidate will be well versed in contemporary art, and be an active participant in the New York art community. An in-depth knowledge of printmaking is preferred but not required. The candidate must be a self-starter with strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and be comfortable working collaboratively. We are seeking someone who can think creatively, who can generate new ideas for greater visibility, and assist with the marketing of the organization. Design experience, both print and web, is a plus.
International Print Center New York is a growing non-profit organization dedicated to the exhibition and appreciation of original artists’ prints.
The Program Manager’s Responsibilities are as follows:
The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing all activities related to the New Prints Program, a series of four juried exhibitions of contemporary prints per year. Duties include organizing and running the Selections Committee Meeting for each exhibition; researching and suggesting future Selections Committee Members; generating calls for entries, and overseeing the entry of submissions. Once works have been selected for each show, the Program Manager corresponds with the artists and lenders, generates letters and contracts, and arranges for the delivery, unpacking, layout and installation of art work. The Program Manager writes and designs press releases and creates a comprehensive on-line directory of images and documentation for each exhibition.
In addition to the immediate responsibilities for the New Prints Program, this individual should be assisting with the growth of the program, contributing to all New Prints related grant proposals, and generating new ideas for greater visibility.
The Program Manager oversees the general maintainence of IPCNY’s gallery, and the condition of the artwork in each exhibition. In addition to New Prints exhibitions, this individual will assist with the development and administration of the other IPCNY exhibitions.
Institutional responsibilities involve providing information to the public regarding exhibitions and printmaking resources, including giving gallery talks to student groups and guidance to individual artists. The Program Manager sits in on IPCNY Board Meetings, and provides major assistance with general programming such as membership, events and fundraising.
Creative responsibilities include contributing to the development of the visual identity of the organization. The Program Manager acts as webmaster, responsible for all major additions and changes to the website. Other creative projects include the design of all projects that can be accomplished in-house, including announcements, invitations, ads, and exhibition brochures, as well as quarterly newsletters and email blasts. The Program Manager will collaborate with the Director and Administrator to determine the content for each newsletter.
This is a full-time permanent position with competitive salary and benefits.
