Tenure-track assistant professor beginning August 16, 2010. Seeking artist working in photography, interested in interconnections across the curriculum with other fine arts faculty. Teach four courses annually, plus tutorial hours across fine arts disciplines with MFA students. Serve as photography area coordinator. Other responsibilities include undergraduate mentoring and service to the department and university. MFA degree at time of application, and a dedicated artistic practice in which photography is integral required. Artists using photography and other media for development or creation of photo, installation or multimedia-based work preferred. Demonstrated ability to teach photography or related courses at the university level, including traditional b&w, digital, and alternative processes, evidence of building a professional practice that includes strong exhibition record, knowledge of the history and current theory related to photography, and a dedicated cross-disciplinary approach to art practice preferred. Interest in teaching in other fine arts areas a plus. Send letter of application, teaching philosophy, CV, list of three references (letters possible later upon request), artist statement, 20 examples personal work/15 student work on CD or DVD. CD should be Macintosh formatted, with JPEG’s not exceeding 1024 x 768 pixels. PowerPoint presentations acceptable. Application review begins January 8, 2010.
