val britton

Val Britton (Berkeley, CA) produces large-scale, labor intensive cut paper collage/print media installations that investigate the language of cartography meshed with memory and personal history.  She recently completed a residency at Oregon College of Art and Craft in Portland and will be in residence at the SF Recycling & Disposal’s “Recology” program later this year. We are pleased to congratulate Val on her recent award of a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant!

jeff hantman

Jeff Hantman (Oakland, CA) creates hybrid print/sculpture works that comment on architecture and history through combinations of images and scrap building materials. Jeff collects wood from the side of the road, bits of plywood from building sites and salvaged scraps from old houses to reassemble into elaborate forms that are layered with printed imagery. Jeff was an artist in residence last year at Djerassi. His work is currently on view at the Barra Windows in Berkeley.

The talk is free of charge and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
