About the Instructor:

Rie Dion is a ceramicist whose work experience ranges from studio pottery, product development at Heath Ceramics to teaching Glaze Technology class at CCA. A native of Japan, she now lives and works in El Cerrito, CA. She owns a small scale pottery studio called DION CERAMICS which is operated by her and her husband. Since 2010, she has been working with artists, designers, and small businesses to design and fabricate handmade ceramic pieces. Through her practice, she is creating a point of contact between people and asking whether you can build a community based on the ceramic objects.
