Intro to Paper Art: Creating Paper Food (February)
Learn paper art techniques while making paper food! In this workshop, you’ll learn basic paper sculpture techniques and approaches to the art form. Through live demos and practice time, we’ll cover methods for cutting, curving, creasing, and gluing paper. Following an overview of approaches to translate a subject into paper forms, there will be studio time to experiment and combine these techniques to create a paper meal of your own. By the end of class, you will have contributed to a paper potluck, created by the class! Each person will walk away with a piece of their own creation. This will be a fun basics class with plenty of time to experiment, as well as a rewarding tactile experience.
This workshop is open to all levels, but participants should be comfortable with learning to use an Xacto knife.
