Beginning Weaving on Tabletop Loom

This class will introduce you to weaving on a tabletop loom. We will cover the basics of weaving and how to set up the loom, then experiment with a variety of yarns and structures. The first half of the class sessions will be focused on weaving a small sampler. During the second half of class sessions, students will have the opportunity to plan and execute a small project such as a scarf, table runner, or wall hanging. No experience necessary, all are welcome!

About the Instructor:

Katie Buckley is a California based weaver and textile artist. Her work centers around textiles for the home using hand weaving and natural dyeing. Influenced by a familial history of textile makers, she draws on practices and materiality of the past. She received a BFA in textiles from California College of the Arts in 2022 and has studied at San Francisco Art Institute and the Marshfield School of Weaving.
