Creative Mending Workshop

In this hand sewing class, participants will learn how to mend clothing using creative methods and bring new life to worn-out pieces. Patch work, embroidery, sashiko, and other techniques will be utilized depending on each garment’s needs and students desired look. Please note, this is not a garment construction or major alteration class (replacing buttons and fixing holes = yes! Turning a dress into a pair of trousers = no). No experience necessary, beginners welcome.

General Tuition: $250
Pay-It-Forward Tuition: $275
Reduced Tuition (Limited): $225

About the Instructor:

Ella Rose Avery is a multi-disciplinary artist, raised and based in Berkeley. She is a commercial illustrator and fine artist working in painting, ceramics, and textiles. Her art practice centers on learning and enjoying the process. She strives for her work to reflect her enthusiasm for life. When not making art, she loves spending time in nature or in her garden.
