Handbuilding Teapots & Teacups

Create your own teapot and teacup set from scratch! Over the 2-day workshop, you will learn different handbuidling techniques and you will also have the opportunity to glaze your one-of-a-kind foodsafe set. All levels welcomed, no experience required!

About the Instructor:

Andres “AJ” Serrano is a queer, Mexican American artist born and raised in the Bay Area. He received his MFA in Art (Ceramics) at SF State and his BA from UCLA, double majoring in Spanish and Chicana/o Studies. Andres’ work has been exhibited at the Berkeley Art Center, 500 Capp Street, Root Division, and the Richmond Art Center. Prior to his ceramic practice, Andres has a professional background in non-profits, with a focus on development, fundraising, and grant writing. When he’s not in the studio, Andres can be seen riding his bike through the East Bay, researching ceramic glaze recipes, exploring the bulk bins at Sprouts, and watching any Real Housewives franchise show.
