Intro to Copper Plate Etching: Intensive
Copper plate etching is an art medium that has been around since the 16th century, and techniques and materials have been developed by various artists up to the present day. This 3-session introductory course will introduce students to basic copper etching (intaglio) technique (line etching, aquatint, and more), terminology, supplies, and history of the medium. Students will learn to use tools and equipment safely and efficiently. Each participant will produce works of art and create an edition of prints. No prior experience necessary – all levels welcome!
