Erina Davidson and Camp Kala • Beyond Ink + Paper: Experimental Screenprinting
Kala Art Institute is excited to present new work by Erina Davidson and her students from the 2021 Camp Kala workshop: Beyond Ink + Paper: Experimental Screenprinting at Milvia/ Addison Windows located at 2100 Milvia Street, Berkeley.
Erina Davidson is a printmaker and teaching artist at Kala’s Artists-In-Schools program, Teen Studio, and After School Studio. She taught an experimental screenprinting workshop this summer. Her students learned the fundamentals of screenprinting and expanded their skills to alternative mediums and techniques on surfaces other than paper to create a unique, experimental project that can be wearable, shareable, collaborative, or exist as its own installation piece. We are excited to showcase some of the students’ prints from the workshop as well as Erina’s new installation.
Erina received her BFA in Printmaking from Rhode Island School of Design in 2013, where she was an undergraduate teaching assistant with a focus on intaglio and screenprinting. She was previously a printmaker in residence at Second State Press in Philadelphia, PA and has made work at the Dirt Palace in Providence, RI where she contributed a window installation in 2015. In addition to being a part of the youth art programs, she is also currently a studio assistant in Kala’s print studio. Check out here work on her website. www.erinadavidson.com
