Javier Enrique Piñero
Javier E. Piñero is a Boricua visual artist based in NYC and the archipelago. He focuses on photography and installation work relating to cultural amnesia and colonial trauma. He received an M.S. in public relations from NYU.
In 2023, Javier participated in LMCC’s Arts Center Residency, Center Review Santa Fe, and held his exhibition at Puerto Rico’s National Archive, now part of Museo de las Américas’ permanent collection. In 2024, Javier was selected for the Bed Stuy Art Residency, the Woodward Residency, and NYLAAT. Javier is also a fellow at the Kala Art Institute. His work has been exhibited in Puerto Rico and the United States and featured in Contemporary And, Lenscratch, and Booooooom.
