Mei Chen Tseng

Mei Chen Tseng was born in Taiwan in 1977. She gained a BA degree in English literature in Fu-jen Catholic University in Taiwan, 1999 Master degree in painting in at the Academy of Fine Arts. Tseng lived and worked in Italy Rome and Florence from 1999 – 2007.

Living and studying in both Taiwan and Italy has imbued Tseng with a heightened sensitivity to iconic, conceptual, and spiritual imagery. The rich artistic heritage of Italy profoundly influences her approach to portraying forms, playing with lights and shadows. Tseng’s deep love for printmaking, especially wood engraving is a reflection of her passion for words, literature and an appreciation for the intricacies of delicate details.
