Higher Sails is a print shop project that offers screen-printing classes in conjunction with sign-making services for local businesses. As an extension of this project, a new suite of prints that reflect the visual culture of migrant communities will be produced. The signage and language of storefronts represent the constant shifting of values and places of incoming American communities. Incorporating the iconography, materials, and languages of these spaces I will produce experimental prints that include shoe polish, contact paper, vinyl, ink and other ephemera indicative of urban spaces.
