West Berkeley Community Print Festival 2026
Kala’s annual Printmaking Festival is here! Free and fun for all ages! Celebrate spring and the art of printmaking and more: Join us for a fun day of art activities from community art workshops and artist demonstrations to artist vendors and print studio tours. Stop by throughout the day and see what’s happening at Kala Art Institute. We hope to bring together our local community of artists, youth, and families for a day of sharing and experiencing art in West Berkeley.
Chat with local artists selling their artwork. Participate in art-making activities such as gelli plate & lego printing with Kala teaching artists, print on your own t-shirt, and make your own screenprinted ceramic tile. Create spring memories through printmaking, mark-making, layering, and more! REGISTER HERE

1:30- 3:30 pm @ Kala Gallery & Community Classroom: In the afternoon, drop in for fun hands-on community art workshops to explore and experiment with the wonders of printmaking! Kala teaching artists will be screen printing tote bags. *Bring a t-shirt! We have limited free tote bags for printing!
Participate in art-making activities such as screenprinting on your own t-shirt, gelli plate & lego printing, weaving, and printing on a ceramic tile with Kala teaching artists, hear community stories with The HEAR HERE Billboard, and grab a free print from Ryan Harrison. Fun for all ages!
1 PM, 2 PM & 3 PM PRINT STUDIO TOURS (SIGN UP HERE)
Meet artists and watch demos in etching, relief, & letterpress, check out our amazing print studio. Meet Kala staff at the entrance of the Kala Gallery and walk to the studio around the corner (5-8 minutes). The tours are led by Kala staff for 30-45 minutes and include artist demonstrations of various printmaking techniques. Learn more about our Artist-In-Residence (AIR) Program and Adult Art Classes in printmaking and fine arts.
PLEASE NOTE 3RD FLOR PRINT STUDIO ACCESS: The print studio is located on the third floor and is only accessible by going up three flights of stairs. Unfortunately, there is no elevator for public use to the studio at this time, and Kala cannot accommodate people with physical disabilities who may have difficulties going up or down a flight of stairs.
